Routing & Bill of Materials (BoM)

Routing and Bill of Materials (BoM) in PrismERP provide a structured approach to managing production processes and materials. Routing defines the sequence of operations required to manufacture a product, including the assignment of work centers, machines, and labor for each step. This ensures that all production activities are recorded and can be monitored efficiently.

A BoM specifies the complete list of materials, components, and quantities needed to produce a finished product. It also allows users to include overhead costs such as electricity, labor overhead, and machine maintenance, which are automatically added to the total cost. Users can create BoM templates that include items, quantities, specifications, and overhead costs, enabling consistent and accurate setup for multiple production processes.

Pre-Costing Simulation in PrismERP allows users to estimate production costs before manufacturing. By selecting a BoM, most fields including item details, quantities, specifications, and overheads are auto-populated. Users can assign manufacturing cost heads, choose costing types, and add additional costs to complete the simulation. Completed simulations are stored in the Pre-Costing Simulation List and can be edited until finalized.

BoM specifications allow detailed technical attributes to be recorded for each item, including dimensions, material type, and other relevant characteristics. BoM Recalculation updates cost-related fields whenever item rates, quantities, or overheads change. Manufacturing cost heads capture both direct and indirect production expenses, and these can be reused across multiple BoMs or simulations.
