💰 Product-Level Revenue Segmentation

Product Revenue Segregation in PrismERP records the revenue from a sale in the income account assigned to each product. When a sale invoice is created, the total amount owed by the customer is posted to Accounts Receivable. At the same time, the revenue portion is posted to the product-specific income accounts. This allows the ledger to show how much revenue comes from each product or income type.

Revenue Segregation Process​

  • Product Setup: Each product is assigned an income account when it is created in PrismERP.

  • Sale Invoice: When a sale is made, the invoice records the total receivable under Accounts Receivable.

  • Revenue Posting: The system posts the revenue portion of the sale to the income account linked to the product.

  • Ledger View: The ledger shows the Accounts Receivable entry along with separate entries for each income account.
