Territory Setup

Territory Setup in PrismERP provides a robust foundation for organizing and managing your business's geographical structure. This feature helps define regional boundaries, build hierarchical relationships, and assign sales teams for efficient territory-based operations. Territory Setup is the starting point for establishing your sales geography in PrismERP. Through this setup, users can define territory types (like Nation, Region, Area), create hierarchical structures (Parent/Child), assign locations (Division → City → Thana), and align sales team members accordingly. This structure is vital for accurate sales territory assignment, performance analysis, and real-time tracking across regions.

Territory Type Configuration

➤ Navigation Add Territory Type

➤ Steps:

  1. Name – Enter the name of the territory type (e.g., Region, Zone, Area).
  2. Parent – If this is a sub-territory type, assign a parent (e.g., Nation → Region).
  3. Designation Code – Assign sales team designation (e.g., RSM, TSM) associated with the territory.

➤ Example:

  • Territory Type: Region
  • Parent: Nation
  • Lead (Designation): Regional Sales Manager (RSM)

This hierarchy helps to define how the territories are layered and who is responsible at each level.

🌐 Creating Territory Areas & Subareas

➤ Navigation to Add Territory Area**

➤ Configuration Fields:

  • Territory Type: Choose previously created type (e.g., Region).
  • Name: Area name (e.g., Khulna Region).
  • Parent Area: Assign parent (e.g., Bangladesh).
  • Location Mapping: Assign administrative units like:
    • Division: E.g., Khulna
    • City: E.g., Khulna City
    • Thana: E.g., Sonadanga, Khalishpur

📍 PrismERP’s built-in location master allows you to accurately assign geographical locations to territories.

Territory Hierarchy Visualization

As you define and assign territories, PrismERP automatically builds the Territory Organogram, a visual hierarchy showing how areas and team members are structured.

Assigning Sales Teams to Territories

Assign employees like Sales Reps, Field Officers (FO), and Sales Managers to specific territories.

➤ Navigation Add Sales Team Member**

➤ Key Fields:

  • Employee – Select the person (e.g., Mr. Arif).
  • Territory Type – Choose the type (e.g., Region).
  • Territory Area Name – Assign area (e.g., Khulna).
  • As (Designation) – Automatically derived from config.
  • Supervisor – Select parent-level supervisor.
  • Field Officer – Checkbox if the employee is FO.

🔁 You can assign both individual and batch sales teams using the Batch Sales Team Member Add feature.

🔍 Territory-Based Business Transactions

PrismERP uses the configured territory structure to automatically determine applicable territories during:

  • Sales Orders
  • Collections
  • Customer Assignments

This ensures transactions are tracked and managed according to the assigned geographical hierarchy.

🧠 Recommendation

It is strongly recommended to maintain one responsible employee per position per territory for accountability and accurate reporting. Use batch assignment for scalability and organogram for clear visibility.

✅ Conclusion

Territory Setup in PrismERP isn’t just about drawing boundaries—it’s about strategically structuring your business’s sales footprint. From the top-down hierarchy to location-based assignments, this feature helps streamline operations, improve territory visibility, and enhance team performance at every level.
